I'm glad schools are blocking myspace and facebook?

This way, kids can't get around it. Not even with proxies. Thank godness, this generation is filled with lazy kids anyway. That's why America's kids are obese. It was totally different when I was a kid. Any thoughts?

i graduated in 2001, we didnt have nearly any of this stuff, including just basic internet access.

you know what we did to entertain, cuz mind you , even cell phones werent that big then either...we had those scientific calculators that you could program very cheasy basic games on.

thats about it. so yes, you are right, kids these days are even more lazy then we were and their dependance on electronics as their sole means of entertainment could very well be leading to obesity trend.....at least a factor to be considered

I am not sure that is has anything to do with obesity, but I can't imagine that is positively contributes to test scores, which nationwide are atrocious (nor am I naive enough to think it is the sole factor). So, yes, kudos to schools for this policy change. Hopefully, similar education positive policy changes will be in the future.

am a college student and i love facebook and myspace. kids shouldn't be using them in school. when i was in high school, the web was monitored. and those sites weren't either around or as popular as they are now.

At my school, kids have to sign a technology agreement at the very beginning of the year. It clearly states that if a student is caught on an adult site, he will not be able to use any computer for the rest of the school year. That's serious because all kids have computer lab and computer projects for grades. And yes... myspace is blocked along with facebook and several others. At home, computers should be in the family room.

hm, if you say just because kids have myspace%26amp;facebook(the internet in general) that they are lazy and obese than what are you doing on the internet?wouldnt that make you fat %26amp; lazy too? I do agree though that they shouldnt be allowed at school.

Facebook is a College website.

Is this a question or a statement? Sounds like it might be better suited to a blog then yahoo answers. IMO
